The ESS Triton is one of the newest Neptune-class frigates to roll off the assembly line. As the Romulan War ramped up, so did the fleetyards production of new, combat ready starships -- mostly of the Neptune light cruiser and newer Freedom-class heavy cruiser designs. Triton was originally sent to Forrest to pick up and an all available crew to man her, but having just been in a battle themselves, no crew were available. It became apparent that Triton would be of more use as a support vessel for the Station in the current climate, though the possibility remains that she may yet be called away for battle.
Mission Patch
Triton's mission patch is authorized for wear on the right shoulder of all standard duty uniforms (opposite the Forrest mission patch on the left shoulder) for senior officers and dedicated crew.
